Walk with Jesus

Why Now?

There is something very intentional about the timing of Gospel Portions.

Many New Testament scholars date the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus to around AD 30. If that chronology is correct, then approximately 2,000 years ago, Jesus would have been entering the years of ministry that ultimately led Him to the cross and the resurrection.

That gives us a remarkable opportunity.

In 2026, the biblical Feast of Sukkot, also known as the Feast of Tabernacles, falls approximately 3½ years before the spring of 2030. And 3½ years is significant because it reflects the traditional length associated with Jesus’ earthly ministry.

So, on November 1st, 2026, Gospel Portions begins a journey of its own.

A 3½-year journey of walking with Jesus through the Gospels, week by week. This will take us to Easter 2030. What a way to celebrate and honor the 2,000 year anniversary of Jesus’ ministry, death, burial and resurrection!

Gospel Portions brings together everything Jesus said and did, from His birth to His ascension, into 182 portions. We explore one portion each week, following His life, listening to His words, watching how He interacted with people, and asking what it means to follow Him today.

As Roy, Gospel Portions Founder, explains in the video below, the hope is that this becomes your own personal journey with Jesus, almost as though you were there among His first disciples, following Him along the way.

We aren’t claiming that we can establish every date of Jesus’ ministry with certainty. But as we approach what may mark approximately 2,000 years since His death and resurrection, we can’t think of a better way to spend these years than walking closely with Him.

Not just studying about Jesus.

Following Him.

One portion at a time.
One week at a time.
For 3½ years.

Just Now Discovering Gospel Portions?

Maybe you are just now hearing about Gospel Portions and didn’t have the chance to start with us on November 1st, 2026.

Maybe you’re discovering Gospel Portions weeks, months, or even years later.

That’s okay. It is never too late to join the journey.

You don’t have to go back and catch up before you can begin. Simply join us where we are. Walk through this week’s Gospel Portion with us, become part of the conversation, and begin following Jesus one week at a time.

The first disciples didn’t know everything that was ahead when Jesus said, “Follow Me.” They simply began walking with Him.
